Local churches have continued to struggle when it comes to dealing with those who are dealing with mental health issues. Far too often local church leaders allow prejudice, stigmas, and misinformation impact their ability to deal with a population of individuals in dire need. What is the "mystery" (secret) of which the Apostle Paul speaks and how can we understand it? Since the Biden administrations early years, we have been told that inflation is either insignificant, transitory, or a short-term pain for a long-term stable economy. But now, almost all economists and government leaders will acknowledge that inflation is here to stay for the foreseeable future. How should we think about inflation from the Bible's perspective? What lessons can we learn from the past? How can we prepare for the future?

The Bible is full of figures of speech which have not been brought into our translations accurately. One of these figures of speech is hyperbole, to exaggerate or amplify something for effect. Many of the figures of speech in the Bible border what we in the West would consider a lie, but not so from an Eastern point of view. These figures of speech and cultural differences can indeed make Bible study difficult. Recognizing these figures of speech and cultural differences helps the Bible student understand a passage in a profound way they never could have without that understanding.

Very few of us ever think about how different a modern Western economy is from a Near East Ancient economy.
